According to a police spokesman, a married youth namely Rajat son of Victor, resident of Christian Colony (Bakshi Nagar), was found hanging this morning with the hook of the ceiling fan at his residence.
He said family members informed the police, which reached the spot and shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital for post mortem. “Though no suicide note was recovered from the spot but still appears to be a case of suicide, as the youth was a habitual drunkard and was unemployed despite being married”, he added. The spokesman said that Bakshi Nagar police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, the dead body of an unknown beggar was found this morning from a park behind Pahalwan’s sweet shop at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar. The deceased was about 55-60 years old male. His body was shifted to mortuary room of GMCH Jammu for identification and post mortem. Gandhi Nagar police had initiated inquest proceedings in this connection.
